Emanuel Castro

Emanuel joined New Energy Risk in 2023. Prior to joining NER, Emanuel was a research analyst with a Houston-based start up focusing on energy and transition related topics. While there Emanuel helped key stakeholders assess risks associated with energy ventures in Latin America.

As a post-graduate student at Columbia University’s School for International and Public Affairs, he conducted research on a number of policy related issues within the energy value chain. As part of his capstone project, he researched and analyzed the growth of demand response programs in several European countries. Emanuel also holds a Masters in Energy Economics from Rice University.

A native Puerto Rican, Emanuel enjoys cooking many traditional dishes and maintains a small coffee farm on the island.
